The Goddess Nike

Part of Mediterranean Icons, this work reinterprets the classical figure of Nike through an expressionist, contemporary vision. The central sculpture-like form stands against a turbulent field of colour, as if emerging from memory or fire. Around it, fragmented faces and painted traces evoke witnesses, echoes, and shifting identities. The surrounding panels frame the figure like a fractured altar, where victory becomes something interior, a struggle marked by light, loss, and resilience. Here, the ancient goddess returns not as an ideal, but as a living presence shaped by time and transformation.
