A Real Battle

A Real Battle gathers a restless assembly of figures into a scene charged with tension, resistance, and unresolved movement. Pale bodies rise against a muted grey field, while flashes of red, yellow, and black puncture the composition like moments of conflict or defiance. Recalling the narrative structure of classical icons, the compartments along the lower edge seem to echo moments of the same drama, revealing its characters through fragments of gesture and experience. Within Mediterranean Icons, that inherited structure is transformed into a more ambiguous human narrative, where the battle becomes less literal and more psychological, a confrontation in which identity, will, and transformation are put to the test.
