Description
Aphrodite
Within the language of Mediterranean Icons, Aphrodite appears as a solitary presence suspended between sensuality, memory, and myth. The elongated central figure is veiled in layers of violet, rose, and shadow, her form both sculptural and elusive, while the surrounding compartments hold fragmented echoes of the body. Rather than presenting the goddess as an ideal of classical beauty, the painting transforms her into a more intimate and ambiguous figure, where desire, femininity, and identity emerge through colour, gesture, and continual metamorphosis.
