Description
The Substance of the Soul
Part of Mediterranean Icons, this work reimagines Byzantine iconography through an expressionist, contemporary language. The golden fields open into shifting symbolic spaces where figures dissolve, merge, and reform. Fragmented bodies, spectral faces, and emerging movements evoke a narrative of inner struggle and metamorphosis. Here, the “icon” becomes a porous threshold: a place where memory, instinct, and imagination collide, revealing a soul made of movement, ambiguity, and luminous matter.
