Tribute to Tiepolo

Part of Mediterranean Icons, this work pays homage to the atmospheric drama of Tiepolo through a contemporary, expressionist lens. The arched frame evokes the architecture of Venetian frescoes, opening onto a luminous, dreamlike space where forms drift like suspended visions. At the centre, a seated figure anchors the composition, while around it fragments of faces, wings, and abstracted bodies rise and dissolve in shifting currents of colour. These emerging movements echo Tiepolo’s sense of elevation and theatricality, yet reimagined here as a fluid inner scene; a convergence of memory, imagination, and the weightless substance of light.
